Technology Association of Grantmakers: How to Operationalize Trust-Based Systems, Staffing, and Policies

  • 11:00AM-12:00PM PT (map)

This webinar is hosted by Technology Association of Grantmakers. This event is free and open to all, but registration is required.

How can technology leaders and practitioners serve as champions of trust-based philanthropy? Within our organizations, operations staff sit at the heart of a rising tension between the desire for philanthropy to redistribute power and the reality of existing policies, accountability measures, and IT systems. Technology and operations staff play a vital role in naming these contradictions and offering new models and systems for transparent communication, collaboration, streamlined applications, and reporting in service of a more equitable sector.

In this session with the Technology Association of Grantmakers (TAG) and the Trust-Based Philanthropy Project, you'll hear from the General Service Foundation and the Magic Cabinet Foundation as they share how they've operationalized a learning framework and streamlined both applications and reporting as they shift their organizations toward a trust-based approach.

This session will explore questions such as:

  • How can technology leaders and practitioners serve as champions of trust-based philanthropy?

  • What is Trust-Based Philanthropy (TBP)? What is it NOT?

  • How can we operationalize trust-based practices?

  • What needs to change about our policies and processes?

  • How well do our current technology tools and systems support TBP?

  • How does our approach to impact measurement and accountability support TBP?
