This event is part of Blackbaud's bbcon 2021 Virtual, which will take place October 13-15, 2021 virtually. Registration required.
Trust-based philanthropy has gained sector-wide momentum as a way for funders to become more flexible and responsive to community needs amid a global pandemic and racial reckoning. Driven by the central philosophy that funders should approach grantee relationships as learning partnerships, a trust-based approach encourages multi-year unrestricted funding, streamlined reporting, and transparent and responsive communication. The approach, however, is about so much more than grantmaking practices alone; at its core, trust-based philanthropy is a values-driven approach rooted in recognizing and understanding power imbalances and working intentionally to address them.
In this session Shaady Salehi, director of the Trust-Based Philanthropy Project, along with Blackbaud customers Lauren Scott from the Harris & Eliza Kempner Fund, and Philip Li from the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation, will discuss the purpose, process, and impacts of embracing trust-based culture and practices at your foundation.
