Trust-Based Webinar Series: Making the Case

Philanthropy California and the Trust-Based Philanthropy Project invite you to join us for a monthly webinar series for funders. Each month, we’ll explore each of the six trust-based principles that, when practiced together, help alleviate power imbalance in the sector. Each webinar will explore the nuts and bolts of putting the principles to practice, while offering opportunities for peer learning and reflection.

In the final webinar of our seven-part series, we’ll share stories and strategies on making the case for trust-based philanthropy. From addressing skeptical questions from your finance and legal team, to building buy-in across roles and departments, to making the case to leadership and trustees, we’ll discuss how to approach a range of scenarios based on real life examples. Participants can expect to walk away with greater clarity on how to engage in these types of discussions, and tools for responding to the questions and concerns that might come up along the way.

Speakers:

  • Pia Infante, Co-Executive Director, The Whitman Institute

  • Philip Li, President & CEO, Robert Sterling Clark Foundation

  • Shaady Salehi, Trust-Based Philanthropy Project

  • Brenda Solorzano, Headwaters Foundation

  • Marcus Walton, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations
