This is the second of a two-part series on trust-based philanthropy for community foundations.
Join The Trust-Based Philanthropy Project, Philanthropy Northwest, and the Iowa Council of Foundations for a two-part series designed for community foundations that are actively working to embrace trust-based philanthropy. This series will explore how trust-based philanthropy plays out in the unique context of community foundations working at the intersection of grantmaking, fund development, donor relations and community leadership:
Part two, “Engaging Donors and DAF Holders in the Trust-Based Journey” will explore ways to engage donors to understand the value of trust-based giving, and the unique role of community foundations as conveners and relationship-brokers in the community.
Both sessions will feature perspectives from community foundation practitioners who have made strides along the trust-based journey – in their grantmaking, in their internal cultures and structures, as well as in their board and donor relations. Participants can expect to walk away with actionable ideas that they can integrate into their existing strategies, as well as talking points that can help them better make the case for trust-based philanthropy with staff, board members, and donors.
Who should attend: This series is open to all staff, board members, and affiliate contractors of community foundations, especially those who are leading grantmaking and donor relations. We highly encourage multiple staff to attend, since the ability for community foundations to lead on trust-based philanthropy requires the active investment of multiple departments.
