While the dominant perception of trust-based philanthropy is that it’s about multiyear unrestricted funding and streamlined paperwork, the core of trust-based philanthropy is about addressing and alleviating power imbalances between funders and nonprofits so that organizations can thrive and achieve their intended impact. In this informative session, join fellow FPN members who will share their experiences and learning as they actively engaging trust-based philanthropy practices and values into their work. The session will kick off with a brief overview of the essential components of trust-based philanthropy and how they can be tools and guides, not rigid in implementation but flexible and able to grow with an organization as they develop and enhance their practice. The panelists will share their insight and learnings on the process so far, what works and challenges they have faced along the way. Attendees will leave the session with the tools and language which will enable them to begin the process of building their trust-based philanthropy journey, if desired.
