Hispanics in Philanthropy Conference Plenary: From Rhetoric to Action: Shifting Practice and Building Trust for Racial Equity in Philanthropy

This event is part of Hispanics in Philanthropy’s 2022 Leadership Conference, June 7-9, 2022 in Miami, FL with virtual access available. Registration required.

In the past year, we’ve seen powerful changes to the practice of philanthropy to advance equity and build power with frontline organizations. We’ve also seen the rise of “racial equity fatigue,” the questioning of trust-based philanthropy, and the reality of where dollars continue to go despite funding commitments to racial equity since the uprisings after the murder of George Floyd. This session will explore these dualities in our current philanthropic landscape, dispel myths about just how far and how fast philanthropy can go, and offer insights on how we can act thoughtfully but decisively to continue building power with our communities.
