Exploring Trust-Based Philanthropy with GOSW

This webinar is hosted by Grantmakers of Oregon and Southwestern Washington (GOSW) and is open to GOSW members and non-members.

Trust-based philanthropy has gained sector-wide attention as a strategy to alleviate power imbalances between funders and grantee partners. Driven by the central philosophy that funders should approach grantee relationships as learning partnerships, a trust-based approach encourages multi-year unrestricted funding, streamlined reporting, and transparent and responsive communication.

These trust-based principles are critical in leveling the playing field, but how can funders leverage trust-based philanthropy to proactively address racial inequity -- especially as it is further exacerbated by COVID, climate change, and a widening wealth gap?

Join GOSW and Trust-Based Philanthropy Project as we explore the trust-based principles and engage in conversation with foundation leaders who are at different stages of their trust-based journeys. Together, we will examine how trust-based practices can help your organization advance a proactive strategy for equity, as well as how you can navigate the challenges that might come up along the way.
