Community-Driven Philanthropy: Putting Nonprofits and Communities in the Driver’s Seat
As grantmakers, our desire to have a positive impact on the communities that we serve fuels our commitment to philanthropy. But, what does it look like when we place them at the center or our practice, and truly make them the guiding resource? It is imperative that we leverage the voices of our nonprofit partners and community leaders, if we want to achieve impact. So how do we navigate this relationship to help us determine the most effective path forward? This session will help you assess how nonprofits and communities currently participate in your strategy design process. We will discuss the importance of examining their participation when applying a diversity, equity and inclusion lens, and you will leave with instructive tools for how you can embed more participatory practices into your work.
